RKRN\u2019s design is for those who wish to keep and use things for longer, and live a better life. We believe that objects gain true beauty and value through the traces of time and the stories they carry. Based in Seoul, RKRN designs and creates furniture and objects with a focus on essence. We choose materials that endure over time, devise joinery for easy repair and replacement, and develop organic design solutions that adapt to changes in life and environment. We aspire to a self-directed way of living that creates its own value, finding inspiration in both sufficiency and scarcity in the present. Building on this outlook, we develop products and projects for a finer tomorrow. <\/p>\n

When building a product seemed daunting, Chris Anderson’s book Makers was a huge inspiration. One of my favorites was the talk about open source and sharing. It gave me the courage to take on challenges and taught me the value of making and using things I needed. We want to share RKRN’s experience with anyone who shares these values, and anyone who wants to start making and fixing things.
